The Comunitat Valenciana shows its wine tourism proposal at FINE 2023

A visit to the Comunitat Valenciana’s website reveals a declaration of intent about how committed its public administrations are to the wine tourism sector: “From north to south, the Comunitat Valenciana allows you to travel across the whole territory through idyllic and changing landscapes, unique and charming accommodation, splendid wines, cultures closely linked to the history of the territory and, of course, unique and exclusive gastronomy where you can taste the most natural Mediterranean“.

Up to 63,000 hectares dedicated to wine production, and 1.7% of the regional GDP is based on vines and vineyards, making this a key business for the future of the Comunitat. As a result of this importance, once again this year they will be present at FINE #WineTourismExpo, which will reach its 4th edition on 1st and 2nd March.

Wide and varied wine tourism proposal

Among the different proposals prepared for visitors, you can visit wineries and vineyards, tasting high quality wines and getting to know the local grape varieties, such as Monastrell, Garnacha Tintorera, Bobal, Arcos, Forcallà and Mandó.

The institutions are clear about the importance of this type of activity, which takes tourists on foot to the place where the wine is made. “The wineries should be authentic sanctuaries of tourist pilgrimage“, explained Francesc Colomer, regional secretary for tourism, a few weeks ago. “We are sea and beach, without a doubt, but we are also wine culture“.

It is also possible to discover the different local gastronomies through the paired menus that the region’s restaurants have prepared for their visitors. You can also delve deeper into the territory through the enopacks and weekend plans that will allow you to enjoy unique accommodation and discover places that, in traditional tourism, you might not get to know.

Another of the proposals offered by the Region of Valencia is access to advanced knowledge about the world of wine: “Don’t miss the Wine Academy sessions“, the institutions suggest. These are held in the region’s wineries or the opportunity to enjoy a wine tasting under the stars during the special event Cata de Estrellas.

In addition to the experiences related to wine and gastronomy, you can also enjoy a wide range of other activities in the Region of Valencia, such as tourist routes, tastings, visits to cooperatives, etc.

Wine Routes

The Region of Valencia has four wine routes: Alicante, Castellón, Utiel-Requena and Valencia. Each route will allow you to discover the wide range of wineries, vineyards and wine-related establishments in the region.
