Spain Film Commission takes part in the organisation and will attend the first edition of Shooting Locations Marketplace. This is the international event in which audiovisual industry companies and scenaries and destinations location managers will meet. The event will take place next October at Feria de Valladolid.
Spain Film Commission is a not-for profit association launched in 2001 which is leading the way when it comes to branding the country as a destination for film-making and audio-visual shoots, coordinating the efforts of Spain’s extensive network of film commissions and film offices located across the country. The entity is one of the founders of the European Film Commission Network [EFCN], a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International [AFCI] and also actively collaborates with the Spanish government, national institutions and film production companies to further consolidate audiovisual activity.
Among its objectives are promoting Spain internationally as an audio-visual shoot destination, work and mediate with the public administration in order to create and efficient tax incentive system and promote the industry, as well as creating new international markets. Spain has great experience as a movie set in international films as “Dr. Zhivago”, “Cleopatra”, “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” or “Fast & Furious 6”.
Some of the attendees at this event that belong to Spain Film Commission are Andalucía Film Commission, Ávila Film Office, Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission, Canary Islands Film, Castilla La Mancha Film Commission, Castilla y León Film Commission, Catalunya Film Commission and a large etcétera.
Shooting Locations Marketplace, a project developed by Feria de Valladolid endorsed by the Spain Film Commission, has an international scope. Today international and national destinations as Canary Islands, La Rioja, Navarra, Mallorca, United Kingdom, Costa Blanca, Portugal, Castille and León, Valence, Castile-La Mancha, Andalusia, Catalonia or Brussels have confirmed their attendance.
