Shooting Locations Marketplace has proven in just four editions to be a strategic driver for the internationalization of Spain’s audiovisual sector. Since its first edition in 2021, this innovative format has brought together 218 executive producers and location managers from 16 different countries, with strong representation from key markets such as the United States (39%) and the United Kingdom (23%)—the two most powerful in the Western audiovisual industry—as well as a growing national presence (22%).

The hosted buyers program has attracted high-profile executives and location managers from major international studios such as Disney, Netflix, Sony, Focus Features, Lionsgate, and Blumhouse, among others. It has also featured participation from British and German studios, along with heads of locations from across Spain.

Since its debut, the program has shown remarkable growth, increasing from 35 to 68 participants in the latest edition, with a total of 3,692 B2B meetings scheduled, more than 90% based on mutual interest. In 2024 alone, 1,367 professional meetings took place between producers, location managers, and filming destinations, consolidating the event as an essential connection point between the international industry and Spanish territories.

The 2025 edition aims to maintain these high participation figures, with strong attendance expected from producers, location managers, film commissions, and service companies, as well as robust B2B results.

This steady growth not only reflects greater participation but also a more strategic profile, including representatives from studios such as Annapurna, A&E Studios, Fifth Season, and Warner Bros. Participants particularly value the B2B meetings with Spanish destinations and production companies, which are increasingly becoming key partners in the development of their projects and future co-productions.

The results speak for themselves: 100% of location managers and producers confirm they obtained valuable information for their upcoming projects, and 82% say they would return for future editions. Furthermore, more than 60% of filming destinations have attended more than once, proving the effectiveness of the format.

In a context where Spain has strengthened its role as a strategic destination for film and TV productions—delivering a return of up to 9 euros for every euro invested in tax incentives—Shooting Locations Marketplace has consolidated itself as one of the platforms that best connects local talent with the global industry.
