The Thailand Film Office (TFO) will make its debut as an exhibitor at the upcoming edition of Shooting Locations Marketplace, to be held on October 15 and 16, 2025, in Valladolid.

Its participation marks the arrival of a key Southeast Asian player into the global network of filming destinations that come together at this boutique event, designed to foster business relationships between producers, location scouts, and representatives from around the world.

A strategic destination with incentives and full institutional support

Thailand has become one of the most attractive destinations for international productions thanks to the work of the TFO, an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports that centralizes all resources needed to film in the country.

Its offer combines great landscape diversity with top-tier technical and professional infrastructure, simplifying the experience for foreign producers.

The TFO acts as a one-stop shop facilitating filming permits, interpreting local regulations, and providing access to financial incentive programs. It also offers a verified production directory, local coordinators, and logistical information about facilities across the country. Its motto, “everything your film might need”, reflects the agency’s problem-solving approach.

Geographically, Thailand boasts unusual versatility: paradise beaches, tropical jungles, ancient temples, futuristic skyscrapers, and rural villages coexist within short distances.

This potential is showcased in its structured location e-book and official filmography, both available on the TFO’s website, where foreign shooting statistics are also regularly updated.

A growing history of major productions

While no official list is provided, recent years have seen Thailand host large-scale international projects. In 2024, titles such as The TSA – Art of Eight Limbs, The Sympathizer, and The Price of Money – A Largo Winch Adventure were filmed there, as well as music videos by global artists like SEVENTEEN (Speak Up), NCT Dream (Rains in Heaven), and Lisa of BLACKPINK (Rockstar).

Previous productions include Meg 2: The Trench (2023), The Creator (2023), Thirteen Lives (2022), The Greatest Beer Run Ever (2022), and the series Thai Cave Rescue, based on the true story that moved the world.

This track record shows not only the country’s technical suitability but also its warm reception of international teams and its appeal for stories seeking authenticity and exoticism.

Confirmed presence in Valladolid

The Thailand Film Office’s participation in Shooting Locations Marketplace 2025 will offer a unique opportunity for audiovisual professionals looking to explore new filming territories in Asia with institutional support.

At the event, TFO will be active in the Marketplace meetings, the spontaneous networking Hub, and the professional Summit sessions, where it will share experiences with other destinations and producers.

With this debut, Thailand joins the growing number of countries that see Shooting Locations Marketplace as an effective commercial platform to connect with the international audiovisual market.

The 2025 edition promises to be, once again, a turning point in attracting global productions.
