Feria de Valladolid and Spain Film Commission have scheduled the second edition of Shooting Locations Marketplace for 20th and 21st October. The event targets location scouts and managers, shooting destinations and service companies in a work format centred on a programme of previously arranged interviews based on common interests. Last year’s event saw more than 700 interviews that took place over the course of the two-day working event held in Valladolid.

Given last year’s excellent results, the structure and work method will be repeated at the second edition, which will see an even more international focus. As Feria de Valladolid’s Managing Director Alberto Alonso explained, “Shooting Locations Marketplace is a project with a global scope: our aim is to convert the Valladolid marketplace into a must-attend date for professionals whose work scenarios can take them anywhere in the world”.

In turn, Carlos Rosado, President of Spain Film Commission, stated that “Our experience at the first edition drove us to continue collaborating with this project. Spain Film Commission not only competes to attract shoots, but also to position Spain as an international leader for the entire industry, in line with the goals of Spain Audiovisual Hub. We are convinced that Shooting Locations Marketplace is a must-attend event for audiovisual professionals and production companies and we are therefore setting ourselves new and exciting challenges”.

US locations scout Lori Balton hailed the first edition of Shooting Locations Marketplace a resounding success, praising “its innovative format, as well as the COVID-19 health measures in place. It was a twofold risk that clearly paid off. It was great to see colleagues again and make the most of the trips to discover potential future locations. I rounded off my stay with an amazing trip to the Canary Islands, an absolute must for all film-makers. I felt truly honoured and grateful for being able to take part in the event”.
