Turespaña and FINE, the International Wine Tourism Fair organised by Feria de Valladolid, will join forces in a collaboration to promote the development of the Spanish wine tourism in international markets.

FINE, a business platform for the wine tourism sector, will be holding its second edition on 9 and 10 June. Wineries, territories and tour operators from Australia, Canada, the United States, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom, etc. will participate in this edition.

The collaboration agreement with Turespaña focuses on three aspects: internationalisation of the Spanish wine tourism, training of the sectors involved in the creation and marketing of innovative quality experiences, and improving the positioning of the Spain brand in the international wine tourism segment.

Miguel Sanz, General Manager of Turespaña, stated that “actions to promote international wine tourism must be a priority at this special time to reinforce our country brand. It is a booming element that is transversal and is increasingly valued within the tourist experience, accompanying other tourism products such as inland, nature, cultural or business. These added experiences put in value the resources of a tourist area, giving the traveller the opportunity to get to know the destination in a more experiential and close way, enjoying unique and unforgettable experiences. In short, it is value, it is brand, it is key in the strategy of Turespaña, for this new opportunity to revive tourism, to encourage travelling to Spain and return to being a leading, unique and more interesting destination, and above all, safe and reliable, to help to build loyalty among travellers.

Alberto Alonso, General Manager of Feria de Valladolid, stated that he is satisfied “with the incorporation of Turespaña to a project with a clear international scope and that, from the beginning, is committed to promoting the growth of wine tourism. We are confident that we can become a world reference and to do so we need to be visible in those markets”.

The actions planned for the next FINE #WineTourismExpo edition include disseminating the contents of FINE through the Tourist Councils abroad under Turespaña and collaborating to attract tour operators and journalists to participate in the event, and organising their trips.
