Places full of history, experiences and activities through the Cigales Denomination of Origin wine. This route provides several areas of biodiversity conservation and highlights the Pisuerga River Valley, the Canal de Castilla, a wine tourism resource included in the European cycling network, and the Canal del Duero. Wine has been linked to the Canal de Castilla since its construction in the 18th century. In fact, at present, vineyards of several wineries are irrigated by its water, which makes the Cigales D.O. “the wine of the canal”.
