From winning the gold medal at the 1929 Barcelona Universal Exposition for its first wines, to the ongoing expansion and modernisation of its facilities, Protos has always stayed at the forefront.

In 1982, Protos played a crucial role in the creation of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin, authorizing the use of its brand for the emerging Regulatory Council. This historic contribution to the Spanish wine sector highlights its commitment to excellence and the promotion of the region.

The experience is enriched by a tasting of a selection of Protos wines, carefully chosen to represent the essence and variety of the winery. Accompanying the tasting, an appetizer is offered that enhances the flavors and aromas of the wines, creating a perfect pairing that delights the palate.

Ágora, the new commitment to gastronomy

The Ágora of Protos, located in the iconic first winery of Peñafiel, is another key point of the wine tourism proposal.

Here, in a space that combines a wine shop and wine bar with a restaurant, visitors can enjoy a selection of thematic menus that pair exceptionally with Protos’ wines. These menus, created in collaboration with Casa Florencio, reflect Protos’ philosophy of combining top-quality ingredients with emotions, offering a gastronomic experience that goes beyond taste.

From traditional starters from the Ribera to main courses made with the finest local products, every element of the menu has been carefully selected to offer an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
