• The next meeting will be in October in Italy

FINE, the international wine tourism fair held in Valladolid, closes its sixth edition with a satisfactory balance after the intense days of work in which professionals from 26 countries have participated. The general manager of Feria de Valladolid, Alberto Alonso, explains that ‘FINE offers its participants a trade fair model focused on business meetings, a format that does away with superfluous elements and therefore allows time to be optimised to the maximum’.

The summary of FINE 2025 in numbers shows an increase of 22 percent in the number of tour operators and travel agencies participating compared to the previous year; more than 2,200 interviews arranged in advance with the 140 wineries, hotels and routes present at the event; and a heterogeneous wine tourism offer represented by territories from Spain, Portugal, Sicily, Champagne and the Slovenian route of Štajerska.

FINE is also committed to dissemination and analysis by experts with different profiles, such as the French Charlotte Fougère, president of Calice, who spoke about the future of wine tourism, success stories in different regions and challenges. The analysis of the different ‘degrees of maturity’ of wine tourism in wineries and regions; the models followed in Spain, Italy and the Algarve region; the role of wine in wine tourism, the development of unique proposals and the use of artificial intelligence to assess the perception of wine tourism were issues addressed in the round tables in which some twenty speakers took part.

FINE Italy

After six editions, FINE will open a new stage in Italy thanks to the collaboration agreement between Feria de Valladolid and Riva del Garda Fierecongressi. The first transalpine event for wine tourism professionals will take place on 28th and 29th October. The general manager of Feria de Valladolid, Alberto Alonso, and the director of Exhibitions at Garda Fierecongressi Spa, Giovanna Voltolini, staged the ‘transfer’ of the FINE flag to Italy, a way of giving continuity to this innovative and pioneering project due to its monographic and highly specialised nature, which will arrive in autumn in a country where wine tourism is particularly relevant.

Fam trips

After the working days at Feria de Valladolid, FINE’s activity continued in territories such as Castilla y León, Guipúzcoa, Rioja Alavesa, Madrid and Algarve, in Portugal, where the tour operators got to know the details of the wine tourism proposals designed for the coming season, from tailor-made trips to experiential tastings.

FINE is a project of Feria de Valladolid with the collaboration of companies and institutions such as Turespaña, Valladolid City Council, Valladolid Provincial Council, Junta de Castilla y León, the wineries Abadía Retuerta, Protos, Dehesa de los Canónigos, Ferrer Wines, Bodegas Alvear, Federación Española del Vino, Acevin and the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies.

The official opening of FINE was attended by the Director General for Tourism Policies of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, Ana Muñoz Llabrés; the Deputy Minister for Cultural Action of the Castilla y León Regional Government, Mar Sancho; the Valladolid City Councillor for Tourism, Events and City Brand, Blanca Jiménez; and the President of the Valladolid Provincial Council Tourist Board, Moisés Santana.
