Pago de Carraovejas: winemaking excellence in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region

Pago de Carraovejas

Pago de Carraovejas has established itself as one of the most emblematic wineries in Ribera del Duero, renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and high-level wine tourism. Its participation in the upcoming edition of FINE offers wine lovers an unparalleled opportunity to get to know the essence and trajectory of this distinguished winery.

Wine excellence from Peñafiel

The history of Pago de Carraovejas dates back to 1987, when José María Ruiz, a renowned restaurateur from Segovia, decided to realise his dream of producing quality wine in one of Spain’s most promising areas. Together with a group of wine enthusiasts, he established the winery on the slopes of Carraovejas in Peñafiel, Valladolid.

The first harvest in 1991 produced approximately 70,000 kilos of grapes from the initial 25 hectares in production. Since then, the winery has experienced sustained growth, expanding its vineyard and consolidating itself as a benchmark in the region.
