Feria de Valladolid has signed a cooperation agreement with the Mexican consulting firm Codex for the promotion of FINE, the International Wine Tourism Fair, in Latin America. Expansion into new markets is one of the targets set for the second edition of FINE, and this collaboration joins the initiatives already underway in Portugal, France and Italy.
Codex is a company headquartered in Mexico that operates in Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. It is specialised in tourism consulting and socio-economic development, and one of its main activities is the strategic planning of wine tourism experiences.
‘We are delighted to rely on Codex for the second edition of FINE. With its knowledge and experience, it will help us to grow in countries with booming, compelling wine-tourism industries, such as Mexico, Argentina and Chile’, said Alberto Alonso, managing director of Feria de Valladolid.
Meanwhile, Zaida Semprún, director of Codex in Spain, explained that ‘for Codex, this is a unique opportunity to collaborate on the promotion of FINE in Latin America while continuing to bet on wine tourism as the backbone of socio-economic development in the regions and as an example of sustainable tourism that brings value to products and services with a marked cultural identity’.
FINE, whose second edition will be held on June 9 and 10, 2021, at Feria de Valladolid, is a leading business forum for wine tourism professionals: wineries, wine regions, tour operators, travel agencies, business tourism, etc.
