The Federazione delle Strade del Vino, dell’Olio e dei Sapori di Sicilia is a recently established organisation with the aim of promoting and coordinating the various food and wine routes of the island. Its participation in FINE 2025 represents a unique opportunity to showcase the cultural and culinary richness of Sicily to a wider audience.
Raising Sicily’s profile
Founded in December 2024, the Federation emerged from the need to unify the efforts of the different “Strade” (routes) of wine, oil, and flavours present in Sicily. Currently, the organisation comprises seven routes, with the intention of incorporating more in the future. This initiative aims to create a unified voice that facilitates dialogue with institutions and enhances the promotion of Sicily’s food and wine heritage.
Sicily’s winemaking and olive oil traditions date back millennia, with influences from various civilisations that have left their mark on the local culture and production methods. The creation of the Federation is a significant step towards preserving and enhancing these traditions, adapting them to the demands of contemporary tourism.

Discovering the island through flavours
The Federation coordinates a wide range of wine tourism experiences that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the essence of Sicily. Notable activities include:
- Food and wine tours: itineraries that combine visits to wineries and olive mills with tastings of local products, offering a comprehensive view of the region’s production and flavours.
- Tastings and samplings: sessions led by experts where visitors can taste wines and extra virgin olive oils, learning about their characteristics and production processes.
- Workshops and courses: educational activities covering everything from traditional Sicilian cuisine to viticulture and olive growing, aimed at both enthusiasts and professionals.
- Cultural events: participation in festivals, fairs, and local celebrations that reflect Sicily’s rich cultural heritage.
These experiences are designed to cater to various visitor profiles, from tourists interested in culture and gastronomy to industry professionals seeking specialised knowledge.
