Comissão Vitivinícola da Região de Lisboa at FINE #WineTourism Marketplace
The Lisbon Wine Commission (CVRLisboa), an inter-professional regional association responsible for controlling the origin, ensuring the authenticity, and promoting the viticultural products with Denomination of Origin and Geographical Indication of the Lisbon region, will participate in the upcoming edition of FINE #WineTourism Marketplace, on March 13th and 14th, 2024.
This event will be a unique opportunity to closely explore the rich wine tourism proposal that this region has to offer. Known also as Estremadura, the Lisbon region is characterized by its geological, climatic, and cultural complexity, reflected in the diversity and quality of its wines. With a viticultural history marked by the Phoenicians and later by religious orders such as the Cistercians, this region has managed to adapt and evolve, overcoming challenges like phylloxera.
CVRLisboa plays a crucial role in the certification and promotion of the region’s wines, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. CVRLisboa’s participation in FINE #WineTourism Marketplace is a testament to its commitment not only to wine quality but also to promoting the vinicultural culture and enotourism in the Lisbon region.
Wine tourism proposal of the portuguese capital
The Lisbon region offers a unique enotourism experience, where wine intertwines with history, landscape, and culture. Wine enthusiasts visiting the region can expect to discover vineyards stretching from the hills to the proximity of the sea, enjoying a climatic diversity that favors the production of a wide range of wines. CVRLisboa has worked hard to promote these experiences, highlighting the importance of viticulture in the region’s identity.
Visitors will have the chance to explore historic estates where the wine tradition has been passed down from generation to generation. These estates not only produce some of Portugal’s finest wines but also offer guided tours, tastings, and activities that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the world of wine. Moreover, the proximity of Lisbon, a vibrant city with a rich cultural offering, adds a unique value to the region’s enotourism experience.
Denominations of origin like Alenquer, Bucelas, Colares, and Óbidos, among others, are a testament to the quality and diversity of Lisbon’s wines. During FINE #WineTourism Marketplace, CVRLisboa is proud to present these denominations, offering visitors the chance to taste wines that reflect the unique terroir of each subregion. This enotourism experience is not limited to the palate but also educates about the history, production process, and cultural importance of wine in the region.
Leveraging new Technologies to enhance its enotourism offering
Besides promoting Lisbon’s rich wine heritage, CVRLisboa focuses on innovation as a means to enrich the enotourism experience. The incorporation of modern technologies in viticulture and winemaking has allowed the region’s producers to improve the quality of their wines without losing respect for tradition. This blend of the old with the new is an essential part of Lisbon’s enotourism proposal, offering visitors a unique perspective on how tradition can evolve to meet contemporary challenges.
CVRLisboa’s participation in FINE #WineTourism Marketplace is an invitation to explore this fascinating wine region, where each glass of wine is a story waiting to be discovered. The combination of stunning landscapes, exceptional wines, and warm hospitality makes Lisbon an unmissable enotourism destination.
