Casa Padró and its vermouths, premiere at FINE 2024

Casa Padró

The history of Casa Padró dates back to 1886 in the small farming village of Bràfim, Tarragona. Since its beginnings, this family has been deeply linked to the world of winemaking, starting with the commercialisation of wines and mistelas transported in bocoyes and carts. The first generation, led by Daniel Padró Porta and his wife Rosa Valldosera, laid the foundations of what would become a long tradition in the production and marketing of wines.

Over the years, the family business experienced remarkable growth and evolution. The second generation, headed by Daniel and Juan Padró Valldosera, promoted the industrial development of the business, building the first facilities that are still in use today.

This entrepreneurial spirit was maintained with the successive generations, who decided to focus on the production and marketing of wines and liqueur wines, ceasing the production of spirits.

Modernisation and expansion continued to be a constant in the history of Casa Padró. The fourth generation marked a milestone with the beginning of wine bottling, a practice that has been maintained and perfected with the incorporation of the fifth generation.

The latter has been able to combine tradition with innovation, implementing advanced technology in the oenological processes and expanding the facilities to improve the production and quality of its products.

The charm of visiting Casa Padró

At the next edition of FINE #WineTourism Marketplace, Casa Padró will present for the first time its unique wine tourism proposal focused on vermouth tourism.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a unique experience at Casa Vermouth Padró, where they are invited to discover the secrets of vermouth making in an atmosphere full of history and tradition.

The experience includes a tour of the stately home dating from 1776, where you can explore the courtyards, the rooms and learn about the entire process of making vermouth, from the selection of botanicals to the final product. This educational visit culminates with a tasting of eight different vermouths, allowing visitors to appreciate the diversity and richness of flavours that characterise Casa Padró’s vermouths.

In order to take note of the relevance of the proposal, it should be borne in mind that the winery’s wine tourism initiative has been recognised at the Premis Vinari dels Vermuts Catalans, demonstrating Casa Padró’s commitment to creating quality experiences.
