Bodegas Estancia Piedra: Zamora’s history will be present at FINE 2025

Bodega Estancia Piedra

Located in the idyllic Guareña Valley, in the heart of the Toro Denomination of Origin, Bodegas Estancia Piedra has established itself as a reference in the world of wine and wine tourism. Its participation in the FINE #WineTourism Marketplace reinforces its commitment to promoting wine culture and excellence in winemaking. With a combination of tradition, innovation, and sustainability, this winery invites wine lovers to discover the essence of Toro through unique experiences and high-quality wines.

The ideal place for Garnacha and Verdejo

The history of Bodegas Estancia Piedra is the result of a family passion for wine. Its founder, Grant Stein, a successful Scottish lawyer, decided in 1997 to make his dream of producing wines of exceptional quality come true. After exploring various wine regions, he chose the DO Toro for its enormous winemaking potential and acquired the largest plot of old vineyard in the denomination, with more than 40 hectares of Tinta de Toro, an indigenous variety with centuries of history.

The main vineyard, planted in 1968, is a testament to the rich winemaking heritage of the region. It also cultivates other varieties, such as Garnacha and Verdejo, allowing the winery to offer a diverse range of wines. This tradition is complemented by the application of modern winemaking techniques, ensuring the highest quality in every bottle.

Excellent products with vegan certification

The combination of tradition and modernity is one of the fundamental pillars of Bodegas Estancia Piedra. The winery is committed to sustainable and organic farming, minimising the use of chemicals and opting for practices that respect the environment.

One of its most innovative products is Piedra Natural, a natural wine with vegan certification, made without sulphites or additives. This wine reflects the purest expression of Tinta de Toro, with a winemaking process that respects the grape in its entirety and allows for a genuine and full-bodied wine.

In its quest for excellence, the winery has implemented advanced technologies in its winemaking processes, such as the use of indigenous yeasts, which reinforce the character of the terroir, and fermentation in selected oak barrels. All this, combined with a team of highly qualified professionals, has allowed its wines to be recognised nationally and internationally.
