In addition, the region has a wide range of accommodation and restaurants that focus on the gastronomy and wines of the area.
In this context, Viña Costeira is a winery that has become a benchmark in the world of wine tourism. Located in the heart of the region, this winery offers a unique experience for those who wish to learn more about the world of wine. On 1 and 2 March we will be able to learn more about it in a new edition, the fourth, of FINE, #WineTourismExpo.
The wine tourism offer, a wide range of wine-related proposals
Viña Costeira’s wine tours are designed so that visitors can understand the history of the Ribeiro region, taste wines from nearby vineyards, enjoy Galician gastronomy and learn about the winemaking process.
The experience begins with a visit to the Pazo de Toubes, a restored 18th century winery that holds all the secrets of the first Galician wine. During the visit, visitors can identify the different native grape varieties in the centuries-old vineyard and learn about the winemaking process of the estate’s wines. The enogastronomic experience ends with a guided tasting of three wines harmonised with bites from the Pazo de Toubes’ chef.
Viña Costeira also offers other activities for those looking for a more complete experience. These include a visit focused on learning about the origin of Ribeiro and a tasting of three wines.
Viña Costeira’s wine tourism visits are available at different prices, depending on the activity. For example, a guided tour of the vineyard and the winemaking process at Viña Costeira costs €15 per person, while an experience that includes a visit to Pazo de Toubes, a guided tasting of three wines paired with appetizers from the chef and a pairing with seasonal products costs €85 per person.
The cuisine at the Pazo de Toubes Restaurant is a fundamental part of the wine tourism experience at Viña Costeira. The restaurant’s chef is inspired by traditional market cuisine and fuses it with contemporary elaborations to offer a unique gastronomic experience to each guest.
During the paired meal, visitors can enjoy a welcome aperitif accompanied by a sparkling wine, a starter from the chef, a seasonal fish from the Galician fish market, the best locally produced meat, and a dessert where traditional recipes and seasonal fruits are combined with sweet wine and liqueurs to experience an explosion of flavours.
